The Somali army announced the killing of 136 militants from the Al-Shabaab movement linked to the terrorist “Al-Qaeda” organization, in a military operation in the Lower Shabelle region, south of the capital, Mogadishu.
The Deputy Minister of Information, His Excellency Abd al-Rahman Yusuf al-Adala, stated in a press conference yesterday evening, according to the Somali News Agency, that the Somali army forces managed, in a military operation, in cooperation with the Security and Intelligence Service and friendly forces, to eliminate 136 militants from Al-Shabaab, including three field commanders. Pointing out that the army also destroyed vehicles and confiscated combat equipment of the militants.
