An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale rocked Xia County in northwest China's Xinjiang region today.
The Chinese news agency, Xinhua, quoted the China Earthquake Networks Center as saying: “The epicenter of the earthquake occurred at 40.01 degrees north latitude and 82.29 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 50 kilometers.”
On January 26, an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Sichuan Province, southwest China.
