Residents in Neuburg an der Donau (Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district) are particularly affected.

From Monday (January 30) to Thursday (February 2), night flights of the "tactical air force squadron 74" will again take place at the airfield near Neuburg an der Donau, according to the Bundeswehr in Bavaria.

Such exercises are essential for the training of pilots.

They train "aeronautical qualifications such as intercept maneuvers, air refueling and the use of night vision devices".

Exactly one year ago, numerous residents complained about the aircraft noise in Neuburg.

The Air Force Command told Bayerischer Rundfunk on request that significantly more complaints had been received since the pandemic.

In August last year, residents in Lower Franconia woke up with a loud bang.

Two Eurofighters had broken the sound barrier and contact with an airliner had been lost.

Aircraft noise from "Douglas A4 Skyhawks": Machines are flown as enemy representation

Increased flight operations must also be expected at the "Lechfeld" airfield (near Augsburg).

"Douglas A4 Skyhawks" will take off from the airfield there over the next few days, they are part of an exercise and are flown as enemy displays to practice important flying skills.

The Bundeswehr expressly states that no night flights or general practice flights will take place from Friday 12 p.m. to Monday 8 a.m.
