The master of terror Stephen King returns to the cinema in 2023 with the premiere of
The Boogeyman: The Man with the Bag
, a film that adapts the famous tale of the American writer.
The film, which will be released in June, has presented its first and terrifying official trailer.
"He was always there, hidden in the dark,"
Marin Ireland's character declares with fear in the sneak peek, in which
the man with the bag scares a fearful girl played by Vivien Lyra Blair.

The original short story of
The Boogeyman
written by Stephen King
was first published in a 1973 issue of
Cavalier
magazine .
The story is told through the eyes of a psychiatrist listening to a patient who claims to be the target of a supernatural creature.
According to what the desperate man told the psychiatrist, the bogeyman cursed his family and went for his children one by one.
The patient is convinced that he has found enough evidence to prove that The Boogeyman is real.
This film produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen,
responsible for
Stranger Things
, is not a direct adaptation of King's original work.
The film will follow the two daughters of the psychiatrist played by Chris Messina, played by the aforementioned Sophie Thatcher and Vivien Lyra Blair.
The girls are still dealing with the tragic death of her mother when The Boogeyman shows up to try and hunt them down.
