The traveling fans from Hesse ensured the usual good atmosphere during the game in the arena, but this time they also drew attention to themselves off the pitch: in the middle of the city on Marienplatz.

According to the report, the fans, some equipped with beer bottles, gathered at Marienplatz and chanted against the protesters.

Boost yourself and register us as heirs,” a spokeswoman is quoted as saying through the microphone.
In the heat of the moment, the protesters are said to have tried to talk to the football fans, who, however, vehemently refused.
A fan is said to have even picked up the microphone at the event to emphasize that Frankfurt had nothing to do with the lateral thinkers.
Then two patrol cars are said to have moved out to calm the fray.
The event is said to have ended shortly thereafter.
