An Iranian official responded today (Monday) to the drone attack on the weapons factory in the city of Isfahan and said that "Israel knows very well that it will receive a response, as happened in the past."

He said these things in an interview with Al-Jazeera.

According to him, the attack was not successful and the words of Israeli officials are just propaganda designed to cover up the failure.

Tonight, senior intelligence officials in the United States told the New York Times that the Mossad was responsible for the attack.

The sources said that the nature of the damaged facility is not clear, nor is the extent of its damage.

Tehran claimed that it foiled the attack and that there was minor damage to the roof of the building, but voila!

It was announced yesterday that the attack was aimed at a facility for the production of advanced weapons and that it was accurate.

Many sensitive facilities are deployed in Isfahan, including centers for the production and development of Shihab missiles, capable of hitting Israel and beyond.

The United States estimates that Russia is interested in equipping itself with Iranian missiles, in addition to the drones that it uses widely in Ukraine. However, American officials told the New York Times that they estimate that the attack stemmed from Israel's security concerns, and not with the intention of harming a possible transfer of missiles to Russia.

The attack happened Prior to his arrival in Israel, United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time since returning to office. Last week, the head of the CIA, William Burns, arrived in Israel on an unannounced visit. According to the Wall Street Journal, which cited sources familiar with the matter, Burns discussed Iran and other regional issues with senior Israeli officials.

Their use is increasing.

Senior officials in Iran stated that the latest attack will not stop the development of the defense industry.

Its foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, said it was a "cowardly" attack.

According to him, "Such actions cannot harm the determination and intention of our experts to develop nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes."

Telegram channels affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards pointed an accusing finger at Israel and its "agents" in the country.

"The past shows that Iran will take revenge," it says.

"We were waiting for unruly drones to hit Zionist oil tankers." In recent years, several vessels with ties to Israel have been damaged while sailing on international shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf region. Some of them were attacked by drones.

The United States and Israel held their largest ever joint military exercise last week, involving 7,500 soldiers from both countries.

They practiced different scenarios, such as hitting air defense systems and refueling fighter jets.

These are two essential components for any extensive operation against Iran, which Israel has been developing for many years.

Netanyahu urged the last two democratic administrations - both Joe Biden's and Barack Obama's - to formulate a real military option against Tehran.

The prime minister pushed the previous administration of Donald Trump to withdraw from the nuclear deal in 2018, and while the current administration hoped to return to it through indirect talks with Iran - negotiations have been stalled for months.

Despite the deterioration in relations between Tehran and the West, against the background of its support for Russia and the suppression of demonstrations in its territory, Washington still says that the diplomatic option for solving the nuclear crisis is the best.
