The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Authority announced that it thwarted an infiltration attempt by the remnants of the terrorist organization “ISIS” in Salah al-Din Governorate, in the center of the country, yesterday evening.
The Iraqi News Agency, Ina, quoted the authority as saying in a statement: “A force from the Popular Mobilization Forces was able to thwart an attempt to infiltrate the remnants of the “ISIS” organization west of Amerli district in the governorate,” noting that this came after monitoring the movements of the remnants of the organization and informing the joint operations headquarters in Tuz Khurmato of that. Where a force from the first regiment of the 63rd Brigade within the command of the northern axis of the Popular Mobilization thwarted the infiltration attempt.
The statement added: The crowd forces combed the areas of the village of Zangali and the village of Abboud, and the terrorist elements fled.
Yesterday, Iraqi forces arrested 6 ISIS terrorists in the capital, Baghdad, and Kirkuk, in the north of the country.
