During the whole period, the small mailbox was piled up with letters. A neighbor who came to look for her knocked on her door and when she didn't open, he called the police. The police broke in and discovered the body of a 56-year-old woman in a state of decomposition. No crimes are suspected

The body of a 56-year-old woman was found this afternoon (Monday) in an apartment in Haifa, and it was only after she was found that it became clear that she had already died about two months ago.

Haifa police officers who arrived at the scene with welfare officials after a report from one of the neighbors broke down the door and discovered the body.

No crimes are suspected.

Apparently this is Dina Tilin, who immigrated to Israel from the Soviet Union about 30 years ago.

She was a minor and no relatives are known.

Her body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir for final identification.

The five-story building in the Hadar Carmel neighborhood next to the Bahá'í Temple is entirely inhabited by members of the religion from around the world who come for a volunteer period of several months.

This, with the exception of the deceased's apartment and another apartment rented by expatriates of the Commonwealth of Nations.

In the lobby of the building, the elderly woman's mailbox was full of letters that had not been collected for a month and a half.

Neighbors said they had not seen her for many weeks.

This morning one of the neighbors came to look for her at home and after she didn't open the door, he called the police.

Two of the residents of the building, a Bahá'í volunteer from Canada and a Bahá'í volunteer from Switzerland who have been living there for several months, told Walla that they had never seen the deceased.

Zaka volunteers Israel Schechter and Israel Lazar said: "When we arrived we saw a house full of piles of waste, the body of the deceased was found lying in the house in a state of loss of human dignity.

A case of painful and unnecessary death."
