The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the state of the Russian economy clearly shows that the repercussions of Western sanctions imposed on Moscow were limited, and that Moscow expects a record surplus in foreign trade despite the pressures.

In another context, the Russian Foreign Ministry considered that the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia will become the central event in relations between Moscow and Beijing in 2023.

The ministry added: “This year it will become possible, thanks to the joint efforts of Russia and China, to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and push them forward. As is well known, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to pay a state visit to Russia next spring.”
