Russian experts have developed new ships made with unique technologies designed to transport liquefied natural gas.
And Russia Today channel website quoted experts from the Atominergomash Company and the Russian State Research Center Krylov as saying: “A distinctive technology for storing and transporting liquefied gas has been proposed in the new ships based on tanks made of carbon polymer materials that are being developed by the Russian Omatex company,” noting that these tanks are the most powerful. It is lighter than the traditional aluminum tanks used in gas tankers today.
Experts pointed out that this technology in making tanks enables the tanks to be integrated in parallel in ships during their development stages, which reduces the time for ship manufacturing.
The aforementioned ship production project was included in the plan that Russia is working on to develop the Northern Sea Route until 2035, within which fully Russian-made nuclear icebreakers are also being developed.
