Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stressed that the current course of confrontation pursued by the United States, which is fraught with serious negative consequences, is counterproductive.
Sputnik quoted Ryabkov as saying during his meeting with the new US ambassador to Moscow, Lynn Tracy: “The Russian side expects the ambassador to adhere to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of the host country and the laws, rules and customs of Russia.”
Today, the new US Ambassador to Moscow handed over Ryabkov her credentials.
Lynn Tracy is considered the first woman to hold the position of US ambassador to Moscow, and she held several positions, including advisor for Russian affairs in the European and Eurasian Department of the US State Department, deputy US ambassador to Moscow and US ambassador to Armenia.
