Several people were shot Monday afternoon in Lakeland, Florida, according to a statement issued by the city.
“At this time we believe there are nine victims, two with critical injuries and seven with non-life-threatening injuries,” the statement said.
According to the statement, troopers were called to a location near Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street at approximately 3:43 p.m. Miami time.
The Lakeland Police Department has scheduled a press conference for 7:00 pm local time at the Lakeland Police Department.
Lakeland, Florida is located approximately 88.5 kilometers southwest of Orlando.
