The arrest of Facundo Jones Huala, leader of the Mapuche Ancestral Resistance (RAM) group,
shocked early Monday morning in the town of El Bolsón.
The activist had been a fugitive for almost a year, when he fled to Chile after the decision of the trans-Andean court to take him back to jail.
The arrest
caused sympathy among the residents of Villa Mascardi,
one of the regions that was frequently disturbed by the Mapuche protesters.

, expressed herself about the arrest of her son through her Facebook profile and with a curious post: a song that reads "freedom or death"
"I woke up with this song on my mind around 4 in the morning," he wrote, along with a YouTube link to a song by the Mapuche band Wechekeche ñi Trawün.
The time she refers to was the same time that her son was captured.
