This
Tuesday at 6:00
p.m., the leaders of the
Liaison Commission for Agricultural Entities
(CEEA) and the Agri-
Food Table
will meet with the Minister of Economy of the Nation,
Sergio Massa
, and the Secretary of Agriculture,
Juan José Bahillo
, to listen to a report detailed information on the Government's proposals aimed at mitigating the detrimental effects of the drought that have been punishing agricultural production for the past three years and have worsened in recent months.
Although they still do not have details about the measures that will follow them in the meeting that will be held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy, the presidents of Coninagro, Rural Confederations (CRA), Agrarian Federation (FAA) and the Rural Society (SRA), they will insist on the most urgent requests for
tax relief, suspension of Income Tax advances, withholdings of Value Added Tax and provincial taxes,
the granting of
soft credit lines
so that the producers can face the contracted debts and also get the money that allows them to face the next campaign and rebuild the livestock stock. It is that the prolonged lack of rains translated into the reduction or total loss of crops and pastures, as well as a great mortality and anticipated sale of animals, and the liabilities that will remain great.
It will be necessary to see if Massa makes a
return of the analysis to reduce withholdings that the SRA presented in the previous meeting
, in which it is shown that with the cost implied by the Export Increase Program or "soybean dollar" they could have been lowered by 52 % export duties on all agricultural products.
In addition, the head of that entity, Nicolás Pino, requested this weekend at the inauguration of the Neuquén Rural Expo,
the extension for one year of the payment of social security obligations in order to maintain employment
and accompany producers at this critical time.
Likewise, he reiterated the importance of establishing
a single exchange rate
that returns profitability to the sector.
