A new violent death of a woman hits Colombia.
The victim is a 10-year-old girl who died as a result of stab wounds at the hands of a man who attacked her in her home, the Prosecutor's Office reported in a statement.
The event occurred in the municipality of Pitalito, department of Huila, in the southwest of the country.
According to the authorities' report, the person allegedly responsible for this act also seriously injured the girl's grandmother, who is in critical condition, and killed the dog that tried to defend the assaulted women.

The authorities detained a subject, from whom they confiscated a knife and detected blood on his clothing.
The Prosecutor's Office accused the detainee of the crimes of aggravated homicide, attempted aggravated homicide and aggravated animal abuse.
