Aleppo-SANA
An exhibition by the plastic artist Mohamed Safwat opened today, which was organized by the Union of Fine Arts in cooperation with the Arab Writers Union, followed by a symposium on the artist's work at the Al-Assad Gallery of Fine Arts in Aleppo.
The exhibition included 42 paintings that tell about nature and its details in the city of Aleppo, its old neighborhoods and countryside, and (portraits) of famous artistic personalities.
The head of the Plastic Artists Union in Aleppo, Youssef Mawlawi, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the artist Safwat is one of the most important pioneers of the plastic movement, and presents the painting in a wonderful artistic style, pointing out that the exhibition was accompanied by a literary symposium on the artist's life, works and international participation.
The head of the Arab Writers Union branch in Aleppo, Nazir Jaafar, explained that the literary symposium aims to introduce the three main axes, which are nature, portraiture, the old neighborhoods of Aleppo and the walls, which the artist relied on in presenting his artistic paintings, past and present, with a realistic and impressionistic tendency.
The artist, Muhammad Safwat, pointed out that he used the bright oil color technique to present his paintings that depend on beauty at work, pointing out that he relied on the Impressionist school and modern reality, telling about the beauty of nature, documenting the old neighborhoods of Aleppo and drawing famous artistic figures.
And from the audience, the plastic artist Noran Jabakji explained that Safwat drew with his brush the artistic and musical harmony to form a symphony that was able to attract the eyes of the visitors of the exhibition, indicating that he relied on the two schools of impressionism and pointillism in drawing his paintings.
The head of the Al-Naddaf Cultural Forum, Riyad Al-Naddaf, pointed out the importance of the symposium that was held on the sidelines of the exhibition, and dealt with talking about the artist's life and a critical study of his works.
