The investigation of the fight between the Golani fighters and the Yehuda commander came to the chief of staff's desk, and according to estimates, this is the first major investigation of Hertzi Halevi in ​​office.

According to army officials, Halevi, who spoke in a closed forum on the issue of the quality of the investigation in the IDF, passed an implicit criticism of the investigations carried out by the army - and in particular regarding the serious incident between the general and the soldiers of the 51st battalion

The 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade to the Yehuda Brigade, its soldiers and the brigade liaison officer, the commanders of the Yehuda Brigade, the Golani Brigade, the Yosh Division and the 36th Division were unable to reach an agreement on the chain of events that led to the violent incident at the gate of the outpost: Is the Yehuda Brigade indeed Beaten by the fighters, was this preceded by insults, pushing and spitting.



In the meantime, a recording of a soldier was circulated on social media, which he said recounts the sequence of the violent incident, from which it can be understood that the commandant was directly involved in the incident, and that he was beaten with fists by soldiers. The credibility of the testimony in the recording has not been tested in depth so far, and according to officials at the Central Command, they do not know who The soldier who recorded the testimony.

In the testimony, the same soldier was heard recounting the beginning of the incident: "The commander arrived at S.G.

According to sources in the Central Command, after the investigation of the divisional commanders ended, a war of versions arose between the parties, and disagreements about what really happened in the incident.

In light of this, it was decided that due to the seriousness of the incident, the investigation will be conducted by the commander of the Central Command Major General Yehuda Fox and the commander of the Northern Command Major General Uri Gordin.

So far no investigation has been opened.



The IDF spokesman said in response, "The incident is being investigated by the relevant commanders, in an in-depth, thorough manner and in the manner used in every investigation in the IDF. The IDF takes seriously any manifestation of violence and treats it accordingly."
