Opposition leader Yair Lapid met this morning (Tuesday) with American Secretary Anthony Blinken, who hinted yesterday in his meeting with Netanyahu that the legal reform should be moderated.
"We discussed the necessary steps to prevent nuclear weapons from Iran," Lapid said after the meeting.
"We talked about the important progress of the Negev Forum and the tremendous importance of the activity of the forum that we established together for the regional stability and the prosperity of Israel."

Lapid noted that "the special relationship between the US and Israel is based not only on shared interests but first and foremost on shared values of the principles of democracy and the preservation of democratic institutions.
Establishing these relations is a fundamental component of our national security and our economy."
As mentioned, during the meeting with Netanyahu, Blinken pressured Israel to pass the legal reforms planned by agreement between the political camps.
Blinken confirmed the publication in Israel Hayom, according to which he said that the protests against the legal reform are an expression of Israel's democratic character.
"The prosperity of civil society in Israel was fully displayed recently," he said.
