Mazda 2 is one of the popular models in Israel in the small car category, but also the oldest of them.
The current generation of Mazda 2 was introduced about nine years ago, an eternity in the terms of the automotive industry, especially at a time when the entire industry is adopting electric drive technologies and semi-autonomous driving capabilities.

Despite this, the current Mazda 2 intends to be with us for at least two more years in its Japanese version.
In Europe, a new Mazda 2 was presented, which is actually a hybrid Toyota Yaris with a different branding, but it is currently not scheduled to arrive in Israel as a regular import and is only available through the parallel import channels.

In light of its advanced age, Mazda 2 needed a significant update, but with the intention of extending its life for a short time, Mazda settled for a minor facelift.
The main cosmetic changes include a new, sealed and more aerodynamic front grille, along with a renewed bumper design and new, aerodynamic rims as well.
From now on it will be possible to get the Mazda 2 (at least in Japan) with a variety of color combinations and customization options for the colors of the grille frame, the color of the roof and other exterior finishes.

In the passenger cabin, new color finishing options were also added, a promise of improved materials and the multimedia screen that increased to 8 inches.
Mechanically, Mazda 2 has not undergone any changes, and it will continue to be offered with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine combined with a planetary automatic transmission with six transmission ratios.
The updated Mazda 2 should land in Israel during the year.
