The director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, considered that public opinion in European countries is not as united as the United States would like.
And the TASS news agency quoted Naryshkin, who heads the Russian Historical Society, as saying today, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad: “Public opinion in Europe seems not united in any way, and it is not as homogeneous as Washington wants.”
Naryshkin explained that the presence of French volunteers in the ranks of the defenders of Donbass is a clear confirmation of this.
The Battle of Stalingrad is one of the most important major and decisive battles of World War II, and it ended with a crushing defeat for German forces in 1943.
