Russian State Duma member Oleg Morozov stressed that Moscow should interpret the START treaty in a way that is beneficial to it, including preventing mutual inspections of nuclear sites.
“In the case of START, we must proceed from the fact that we are half a step ahead in terms of the quality of this type of weapon, so we must act in an American manner, that is, interpret the treaty in the way we need it, and if it is beneficial to us,” the Novosti agency quoted Morozov as saying. Preventing inspections, we must do so,” stressing that achieving safety is “a preliminary matter.”
Morozov stressed that "the favorite American game has become in recent years breaking treaties and then blaming Russia for that."
