Ten people were wounded by gunshots, two of them in critical condition, in a shooting on a street in the city of Lakeland, Florida on Monday, police said.
The attack occurred around 3:43 pm when all four windows of a dark blue Nissan sedan were rolled down and the occupants opened fire from inside the vehicle, Police Chief Sam Taylor said.

People on both sides of the street were hit by bullets, Taylor said.
"We have reason to believe that this was a targeted attack, that it was not a random act
," Taylor said at a news conference Monday night.
Agents found three people with gunshot wounds.
Seven others were taken by private vehicles to a hospital or went there for treatment, he added.

The injured were men between 20 and 35 years old.
Two of them are in critical condition: one was shot in the abdomen and the other was wounded in the face and jaw, according to Taylor.
The other eight people had non-life-threatening injuries, he added.
The vehicle was a dark blue four-door Nissan.
When the windows were rolled down, the people inside started shooting, he added. The motive for the attack has not yet been determined and remains under investigation, according to police.
Lakeland is a city of about 112,000 inhabitants located about 50 kilometers east of Tampa in the state of Florida.
