Today, Tunisian President Kais Saied extended the state of emergency in the country until December 31 to ensure security in the country.
Tunisian media reported that President Said issued a presidential order to extend the state of emergency in the country until the end of this year.
Tunisia has been under a state of emergency since 2015, following a terrorist attack that killed members of the Tunisian presidential guard.
On the 30th of last month, President Saeed announced the extension of the state of emergency in the country for a period of one month, starting from the first of next month until the 31st of it.
Earlier today, the Tunisian president affirmed that his country is waging a national liberation battle to preserve its sovereignty and institutions, calling on the armed and military security forces to implement the law and confront attempts to underestimate the state and orchestrate crimes in the future in a number of regions.
Saeed stressed that holding those who have criminalized against the country and the Tunisian people accountable is a “sacred duty,” pointing out that one criminal cannot be left without accountability, and the law must be applied to everyone on an equal footing, and there is no difference between any litigant and another.
