The condition of the paratrooper officer who was seriously injured in the attack in the city of David on Saturday worsened today (Tuesday).

His condition is defined as serious but stable, and he is sedated and ventilated at Shaare Zedek Hospital.

The doctors saw signs of improvement in his condition, but today they reported that his condition has worsened.

His family and representatives from the IDF are at the officer's bedside around the clock. Late in the evening, the family prayed at the Western Wall for his safety and invited the public to do the same.

The officer, 22 years old and commander of the 202nd Battalion of the Parachute Brigade, was on Shabbat leave when he was suddenly caught up in an attack in the City of David. The 13-year-old terrorist shot at him and his 47-year-old father, injuring them. The IDF stated that despite his severe injury, the officer acted calmly, rowed into contact, shot and hit the terrorist.

Only then did the officer go to a hospital for medical treatment.

After the attack, the commander of the 202nd Battalion of the Parachute Brigade, where the officer who was injured serves as a team commander, published a letter to the soldiers of the battalion in which he praised the officer.

N. acted sharply and professionally, rowed into contact until the terrorist was neutralized and with his bravery prevented a serious attack," wrote the Major General.

"He acted as expected of him and in the spirit of the battalion - striving for contact until the enemy was neutralized, and with his body he protected his surroundings and this while he was wounded."
