The weather in Munich and the region will be stormy in the coming days.
The DWD has issued several warnings for Bavaria.

The DWD has been warning of gusts of wind, gusts of wind and even strong gusts of wind since the morning.

Now there is one more warning.
The DWD has issued an official storm warning of heavy snowfall - red alert.
The district and city of Rosenheim, the districts of Traunstein and Berchtesgadener Land as well as Schwandorf, Cham, Regen, Straubing-Bogen (and the city of Straubing), Deggendorf, Freyung-Grafenau and the district and city of Passau are affected.
It says: "During the warning period, there will be heavy snowfall above 1000 m with amounts between 40 cm and 70 cm.
Quantities of up to 100 cm are reached in stowed areas.
It will spread smoothly.”

In this context, the DWD also points out possible dangers: “Roads can be impassable in places.
Among other things, trees can collapse under the snow load.
Avoid all car rides!
Only drive with winter gear!” The warning app KATWARN also triggered after the DWD report.

Munich – It is a stormy start to February.
On the first of the month, a strong wind is blowing in Munich, the German Weather Service (DWD) even warns of gusts of up to 60 km/h.

The entire edge of the Alps, from the Allgäu to the Berchtesgadener Land, has even more to do with wind: Strong gusts of wind with up to 85 km/h occur here, and the DWD warns of a storm with possible snowdrifts from Wednesday evening, 6 p.m.: “In north-west dammed areas, especially on the eastern edge of the Alps, around 100 cm can accumulate.
With a strong north-west wind, there are strong drifts," says the German Weather Service on its website.

A storm warning applies to large parts of Bavaria.
The districts of Eichstätt, Ansbach, Tirschenreuth and Lichtenfels are also affected (marked orange on the DWD warning map).

There is a risk of gusts of wind in the areas marked in yellow.

But how will the weather continue in the coming days?
It will probably remain mild and windy until the weekend, but then winter could make a fresh start.
As Dominik Jung, weather expert from wetter.net explains, the situation is still "completely open" as far as the weather for the coming week is concerned.
And yet: In its most recent forecasts, the US weather model sees the Siberian cold moving towards Germany.
According to the expert, the high that the cold would bring with it could also pass east of Germany.

For Munich, temperatures of down to minus eight degrees will be measured from Wednesday, February 8th, and the thermometer would not make it above zero degrees even during the day.
In addition to the cold, the high would also bring good things with it: lots of sun.
So it only remains to be seen what the models will pull out of their hats in the coming days.
The only certainty so far is that stormy days await Munich and the region in the coming days.
