The statement of David Doch's lawyer at the lawyers' conference in Eilat causes a stir • Some of the participants applauded after he said that he would use live fire

An outrageous and dangerous statement to the sound of applause:

the Bar Association conference is being held at this time (Wednesday) in Eilat.

As expected, during the debate the subject of legal reform came up, but this time it was too official.

too much.

Attorney David Hodak, one of Israel's top lawyers, expressed himself in a radical and shocking way: "If someone forces me to live in a dictatorship and I have no choice, I will not hesitate to use live fire," he said during the conference, when some of the people in the audience applauded the shocking statement.

At the panel on legal reform at the conference, attorney David Hodak added to the officer: "I did not believe that such a thing would happen in Israel, but I also did not believe that a Jew would assassinate a Jewish prime minister.

After I got over the shock I felt a tremendous sense of rage.

I belong to the Yom Kippur war generation, I asked myself what those who gave their lives in the wars would say.

What would they say about this shocking turn of events?

I see what is happening at the level of betrayal of the Jewish nation and the Jewish home.

"I don't understand where Benjamin Netanyahu and Rival Levin get the courage to even make such a proposal. I have decided that I will not live one day in a dictatorship, and if I have to fight for it I will fight. The government does not understand what mud it is getting into. People are ready to fight with weapons and everyone is shocked If you say such a thing. If I have to go there and if they drag me there, that's what I will do. I will not leave the country and I will not live in a dictatorship. They are going after it with all their might and we will oppose it with all our might, no matter what."

"Public broadcasting should be critical"

Judge (retired) Hanan Meltzer, president of the Press Council and former vice president of the Supreme Court, spoke about the reform of the broadcasting corporation: "The law also says that public broadcasting should be critical and this is what the rulers do not like, just as the rulers in Poland, Hungary and Turkey do not like it. As a result, they also eroded the freedom of the press and public broadcasting.

"Both parties did not dare touch it or erode its power because they understood its importance. Public broadcasting not only sanctifies the public's right to know and the freedom of the press, but encourages a neutral and objective description of the current situation."
