Cai Guanshen, president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, said in his speech that with the customs clearance between Hong Kong and the mainland, the return of mainland tourists will usher in the dawn of the tourism and consumer industries, which will play a key role in promoting the recovery of Hong Kong's economy in the new year.

When he later met with the media, he said that he did not object to the government distributing consumer coupons, but he believed that a good investment environment is more important. "If everyone gets money, why do you need government subsidies?"

In his speech, Li Jiachao said that after customs clearance, Hong Kong's overall economic momentum has also been significantly strengthened, and Hong Kong's cooperation with the mainland and international cooperation will become more frequent.

The SAR government team will also actively visit outside Hong Kong to promote Hong Kong's business advantages with the business community and tell the story of Hong Kong.

He mentioned that this Saturday (4th) he will lead the Hong Kong delegation to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He will fully explore the development space of Hong Kong and the Middle East, and help the Hong Kong industry seize the opportunity of economic recovery. He also hopes to help Middle East companies better understand Hong Kong's unique advantages of "relying on the motherland and connecting the world" allow Hong Kong's professional services to be brought into play in the Middle East and more "Belt and Road" countries, creating more new chapters of mutual benefit and win-win results.

ACCCIM plans to visit the EU

Cai Guanshen pointed out that last month he organized a business delegation of about 70 people to Vietnam to promote comprehensive cooperation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong and Vietnam, hoping to introduce Vietnamese companies to Hong Kong for listing.

He said that ACCCIM will organize different foreign missions in the future to visit EU countries such as Spain, France and Germany, and pointed out that each foreign mission will also include representatives of central enterprises, state-owned enterprises and Hong Kong enterprises.

He hoped that Hong Kong and the mainland will cancel the nucleic acid test as soon as possible. He also pointed out that after customs clearance, Hong Kong will return to the international stage.
