Russia's ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, confirmed that the United States contradicts itself in statements about the work of American biological laboratories on the territory of Ukraine, which proves its involvement in these suspicious activities.
Russia Today website quoted Antonov as saying, commenting on the statements of John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator at the US National Security Council, who claimed that Washington, within the framework of biological activity in Ukraine, aimed to prevent a pandemic and did not participate in the development of biological weapons: “The Americans are contradicting themselves, if it was a program The work is of a purely peaceful nature, why was it stopped and the laboratories closed quickly, and why were military specialists working there and not civilians? The answer is clear: Washington had and still has something to hide.
Antonov continued: “This was confirmed by Kirby himself, who stated that the projects were closed and the work of the laboratories stopped before the start of the Russian military operation, which means that everything was done to ensure that the results of the research did not fall into the hands of the Russian army,” pointing out that the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated Repeatedly evidence of the United States implementing dual-purpose programs, and its use of Ukraine as a test site for HIV infection, during which the most vulnerable groups of the population at risk of infection were used, and materials obtained by the Russian military prove that the Pentagon focused on creating biological weapons components .
The Russian ambassador indicated that Washington is now actively transferring unfinished research in Ukraine to the countries of Central Asia and Eastern Europe, and to divert attention, all this is being done under the cover of civilian institutions such as the Ministry of Energy, Health and others, in order for the Pentagon to avoid any criticism.
Antonov stressed that the American side will sooner or later have to respond to the questions posed by Russia.
In addition, Antonov confirmed that Russia has strictly adhered to the START Treaty over the past years, unlike Washington.
Commenting on the report prepared by the US State Department, according to which Russia allegedly did not implement the terms of the “START” treaty, and may return to its implementation by allowing inspections to be carried out on its territory and agreeing to convene the bilateral consultative committee, Antonov said: “In the current year and in light of The frenzied confrontation with Russia initiated by the West, the US administration was clearly keen to present another set of accusations in the field of arms control, which are unfounded, and for the first time the accusations were related to the “START” treaty, to which our country strictly adhered to over the past years, unlike Washington. Which illegally withdrew hundreds of types of strategic weapons from the treaty.
He added, "Russia maintains its adherence to the objectives of the Strategic Offensive Reduction Treaty, and still considers it an effective mechanism in the field of strategic stability and ensuring predictability in relations between the major nuclear states, and we intend to continue observing the main restrictions of the treaty and exchanging appropriate information," stressing that the responsibility for escalation About the Strategic Offensive Reduction Treaty, the United States is fully responsible.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed that Moscow will not seek to force Washington to remain a party to the START 3 Treaty.
