The Chief Immigration Officer (Registration of Personnel) of the Immigration Department, Weng Bixia, mentioned that recently, hundreds of citizens have been queuing up for same-day applications every day, and the prescription has immediately increased the number of online appointments. The authorities reminded that citizens can make an appointment for application procedures through the mobile application of the Immigration Department, log in to the relevant website or call the relevant 24-hour telephone appointment service hotline. They can also download the mobile application of the Immigration Department or make an appointment online to apply for the identity card.
The Immigration Department urges applicants to pre-fill the form when using the mobile application or making an appointment online to facilitate faster application procedures.
If a Hong Kong resident cannot renew his identity card because he is not in Hong Kong, he needs to go to the replacement center to renew his identity card in response to the Hong Kong Citizens Replacement Identity Card Scheme, or he needs to register with the Personnel because he is 11 or 18 years old There is no need to rush back to Hong Kong to go through the formalities when you register and collect your ID card.
Relevant persons can go through the formalities at the relevant office within 30 days after returning to Hong Kong.
