If you are a coffee machine or mackintosh person, you must have often wondered what can be done with all the coffee leftovers that are thrown into the trash during the day.
You are not alone - in the world, every year about ten billion coffee beans are ground (and often thrown away) grown in fields that spread over billions of dunams in the area known as the "coffee belt".
Well, there are many uses for these leftovers, from pest control in the garden to removing bad odors from the refrigerator.
In honor of the wintery and domestic days that befell us, we chose to bring you a recipe that was published a few days ago in the British Guardian, for a kombucha drink - a drink that has become popular in recent years among New Age enthusiasts.

The kombucha drink is a somewhat controversial drink.
Kombucha, the tea fungus, has been used for hundreds of years to make it and the basic ingredients of kombucha are yeast, sugar and black tea.
The preparation of the drink is a common custom in the Far East, a custom that has existed for two thousand years and entered Eastern Europe in recent centuries.
The nations that grow the kombucha mushroom attribute many health and nutritional benefits to the drink, so in recent years it has become more and more popular around the world.
However, it is important to note, there is no evidence to support this.
On the other hand, there are those who believe that one should be careful when using it.

Here is a recipe for 2 liters of kombucha drink from leftover coffee.
Please note, the recipe can suit you especially if you are someone who likes to make sourdough, pickles at home or are just looking for a hobby for a winter day.
It should be noted that the kambocha drink is not particularly common in Israel. At the same time, you can get the ingredients to make it in a variety of health and natural stores.
Component
30 grams of unrefined sugar
700 grams of used coffee beans
300 ml mature kombucha (can be prepared at home or available in health food stores)
1 Scooby Kombucha (available at health food stores)
The preparation process
Fill a heatproof jug with two liters of boiled water
Put in the sugar and ground coffee
Allow the water to cool overnight
The next day, filter the water using a strainer that is not made of metal into a jar
Add the kombucha and the Scooby
Cover the jar with a clean towel and fasten the towel with a rubber band or thread
Place the jar in a warm place (about -20 degrees Celsius), away from visible sunlight
The fermentation of the drink will last between 3-14 days (this depends on the temperature)
When the drink is ready, filter and pour into sterilized bottles and store in the refrigerator
