Battlefield has been in development for a while and won't see the light of day, and support for Apex Legends on mobile will end this May. EA also announces the closure of a mobile studio it acquired in 2018

Apex Legends Mobile (EA, Respawn)

It seems that EA's plans to invest more in the mobile field in the future are significantly reduced.

In a surprising move, the company announced the immediate cessation of development of Battlefield for mobile, and the cessation of support and the closing of Apex Legends' mobile servers starting this May.

In the same breath, EA announced that it is also closing Industrial Toys - a mobile studio it acquired in 2018.

The mobile version of Battlefield was launched a few months ago in a limited selection of countries in order to test the beta version, but now it seems that all the work invested will go down the drain and the game has been completely canceled.

In addition, it was announced the end of support and the closing of Apex Legends servers on mobile starting this May.

A total of a year since it was first launched.

On the part of Respawn, which is responsible for the mobile version of Apex Legends, it was reported that the first three months of the game were an impressive success, but after that the momentum decreased and with it came the fall in the number of updates and the quality of the game.

Starting this May, the game's digital store will be shut down, and players will not be able to purchase items and skins in the game.

While the PC and console version of Apex Legends is a huge success, the same cannot be said for Battlefield 2042 on consoles and PC, and EA has pledged to improve and fix it.

The game suffered at its launch from critical changes to the gameplay that completely changed the game formula, but also filled with a few bugs that ruined the experience for the players.

The cancellation of both games is a very surprising move, especially when it comes to two flagship series of EA.

All the major developers are taking care of a mobile version that will be available to the players.

Activision, for example, is having great success with Battlefield's biggest competitor - Call of Duty.

Especially when it comes to two huge flagship series that are identified with EA, and especially when its rival, Activision, is having success with the mobile version of Call of Duty.
