Luckily nobody was injured.
Marklkofen - In a press release on Wednesday, February 1, police reported a disturbing arson attack in Marklkofen, in the Dingolfing-Landau district.
On the night of Tuesday, January 31, to Wednesday, unknown persons are said to have set fire to a tent that had been put up for refugees from Ukraine.
Unknown people set refugee tent on fire: several thousand euros in damage
The previous investigations suggest that the perpetrators tried to set fire to the empty tent accommodation with a fire accelerant.
According to the police headquarters in Lower Bavaria, the "wooden floor and the tent wall were burned and damaged in small areas".
The district had set up tent shelters for Ukrainian refugees who were expected to arrive in the near future due to the ongoing Russian invasion.
The resulting property damage amounts to several thousand euros, reports the police.
However, the tent accommodation can still be used.

"Fire investigators and officials from the State Security Commissariat of the Landshut Criminal Police Office have taken over the investigation," says the police press release.
They are asking the public for information.
