The Singapore authorities announced on Wednesday February 1 the arrest of an 18-year-old man, accused of having wanted to organize attacks and to support the jihadist group Islamic State.
Muhammad Irfan Danyal bin Mohamad Nor, a Singaporean student, was arrested last December under the Internal Security Act, which allows detention without trial for up to two years.
Online radicalization
He became radicalized after viewing Islamic State group propaganda materials online, authorities said in a statement.
According to them, he wanted to use social networks to recruit a suicide bomber with the intention of attacking a military base.

,” stressed the Minister of Justice and Interior, K. Shanmugam.
