The Minister of Education, Yoav Kish, announced today (Tuesday) the winning of the winner of the Israel Prize, Prof. Yoram Dinstein, in the field of legal research for the year 2018. The prize committee, headed by Prof. Gidi Sapir and with the participation of Prof. Gabriela Shalu and Prof. Ron Shapira , gathered recently and discussed the candidates for winning.
In its reasoning, the committee stated that "Prof. Yoram Dinstein is one of the founding fathers of the field of international law in Israel, in the academy and outside. Dinstein also has first rights in establishing the global position of the State of Israel and the Israeli academy in the field of international law. Professor Dinstein is a leading academic leader, who served as dean of the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University, as Rector of the University and as the fifth President of the University."

The Israel Award is the most important and prestigious award given in the State of Israel in various and varied fields in the spirit of doing and creating in the country.
The prizes will be awarded at the end of the 75th Independence Day to the country in many fields.

Researching the thought of Israel, Jewish philosophy and Kabbalah;

There is also a lifetime achievement award for special achievements as well as for a special contribution to society and the country.
