The Histadrut of Teachers claims that the lack of assistants in kindergartens is harming kindergartens • The meaning: the Histadrut will soon be able to shut down and close kindergartens in entire cities

The lack of assistants in the kindergartens introduces another player into the entanglement - the teachers' union which represents the kindergarteners and claims that due to the lack of assistants the working conditions of the kindergarteners have been damaged.

The Histadrut announced a labor dispute in the city of Holon and the city of Givatayim due to such conduct, which means that it will be possible to disable or disrupt studies.

The lack of assistants in the entire education system is a topic that made headlines the other day, the reason: the assistants complain about their low wages and terms of employment and claim that they feel exploited and transparent by the Histadrut and by the authorities that employ them.

In the last few days, many assistants started a pirate strike, and did not come to work by taking sick days.

As a result, hundreds of urban kindergartens (ages 3-6) remained closed in a number of cities.

The auxiliaries unite through WhatsApp groups, where they call for sanctions to improve their wages so that their voices are heard and to expand the struggle to more cities.

As a result of the existing shortage and also as a result of the pirate strike, many local authorities had to move helpers from garden to garden to allow the opening of as many gardens as possible.

That is, if a certain kindergarten has two assistants - one assistant was transferred to another kindergarten that did not have an assistant at all - and this in order to enable its opening.

In addition, there are kindergartens that regularly lack an assistant.

However, the teachers' union does not see this favorably and claim that the lack of aides harms kindergarteners and their working conditions.

That is why the Teachers' Union has already declared a labor dispute in the kindergartens in two cities of Holon and Givatayim on the grounds of not assigning a second aide to kindergartens as required by law.

According to the teachers' union: "The municipality of Holon does not send a replacement aide to the kindergarten as required, takes out teacher aides and assigns them to other kindergartens and sometimes even avoids assigning a second aide to the kindergarten in the first place."

declared a conflict.

A similar claim was made against the municipality of Givataim.

However, the mayor of the city, Ran Konik, attacked Yaffe Ben David and claimed that he was forced to move assistants, precisely because of a shortage of kindergarteners.

He wrote: "Yafa Ben David declared me a labor dispute. I must have reached my peak. And why the dispute? Ah, that's interesting, the Histadrut takes care of kindergarteners, that they will not be without two helpers in the kindergarten. And that's right! But, why do we transfer helpers from kindergarten to kindergarten? So that we don't have to close Gardens because what isn't there... that's right, there are no kindergarteners! So nice, please make sure there are kindergarteners? Thank you!"

The assistants' protest

The helpers earn minimum wage, their work is abrasive and according to them they are constantly being given more and more tasks.

They are forced to work even during holidays at a salary significantly lower than that of the other employees of the education system.

The aid workers' protest could disrupt the education system and even paralyze entire kindergartens.

Both the municipalities that employ the helpers, and the Histadrut Ma'of, which brings them together, tried to prevent the pirate strikes. Last week, the Histadrut Ma'of, which represents the helpers and is supposed to sign an agreement on their wages with the Ministry of Finance, said that if there is no breakthrough in the negotiations with the Ministry of Finance In order to improve working conditions and wages, Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David will announce a labor dispute and organizational measures will be taken. At the beginning of the week (Sunday), the tone was more conciliatory due to what appeared to be progress between the Histadrut and the Treasury - but the threat of a strike has not fully dropped from the chapter.

The Municipality of Holon reported: "The Municipality of Holon, Egypt, is aware of the announcement by the Histadrut of Teachers, as it is aware of the manpower shortage of assistants throughout the country, when there are sometimes shortages of both assistants and replacement assistants. The Histadrut is also aware of the fact that the Ministry of Education suffers from a severe shortage of kindergarteners, and during the absence of kindergarteners The ministry is having difficulty finding replacements for them. Amidst this complex reality, the municipal education administration is constantly making great efforts to overcome these deficiencies and is looking for creative solutions so that kindergartens will open in the morning. Sometimes the movement of an aide to another kindergarten is the only option that prevents the closing of a kindergarten, thus Severe harm to parents and children is avoided."
