The police replied that at 7:54 p.m. on the 1st, the police received a report from a 26-year-old man, saying that he was with a 54-year-old man surnamed Xu and a 52-year-old woman surnamed Liang in a unit on Argyle Street. The police arrived at the scene after receiving the report and found several men and women fleeing, so they stepped forward to stop and investigate.
Officers later found a suspected drug den on the site and seized a batch of suspected drug paraphernalia and an electronic scale.
After preliminary investigation, a 54-year-old man surnamed Xu was arrested on suspicion of "illegal confinement" and "running a drug den"; a 52-year-old woman surnamed Liang was arrested on suspicion of "illegal confinement" and "taking or injecting drugs"; in addition, 9 Men and women (aged 43 to 61) were arrested on suspicion of "taking or injecting drugs". Among them, a 45-year-old man surnamed Yuan was also involved in "failure to produce identity documents".
