In Rishon Lezion they launched the "virtual scientific library" - a new curriculum that will allow students in the city to study in a revolutionary and innovative way.

3D glasses that present virtual reality and lesson plans backed up in the cloud library are not a scene from a futuristic movie but will soon be part of the curriculum in all middle schools in Rishon Lezion.

This week, the "virtual scientific library" was launched at the Schwartz Reisman Center, which will allow middle school students in the city to study in a revolutionary and innovative way.

In the first phase, the new method will operate in science and technology classes in middle schools, while later it is expected to expand to other subjects as well.

The virtual reality glasses are supposed to be, in the first stage, a tool for teaching science - a field where sometimes there is difficulty in demonstrating the material being studied.

In the middle schools, dedicated study units have already been developed, with the teaching staff hoping that the use of virtual reality will enable a more receptive explanation and demonstration for the students.

Another goal of the use of virtual reality is to make science and technology subjects more attractive and attract a larger number of students to increase them in matriculation subjects.

During the past few months, a cloud library was built in the Rishon Lezion education system, which currently contains 13 lesson plans that were specifically developed for the subject by the science teams, under the guidance of a skilled team, including a science advisor.

Later, as mentioned, content will also be uploaded in other subjects where students can experience a virtual reality in order to improve their academic achievements.

It should be noted that the implementation of the new teaching method will be accompanied by an educational evaluation team on behalf of the Rishon LeZion Municipality that will monitor the consequences of its integration into the regular curriculum.

The mayor, Raz Kinstlich: "The future generation of Rishon Lezion deserves the best and when it comes to them we spare no resources. The municipal education system proves time and time again that it leads in innovation, excellence and achievements and that it deserves the national education award it won. We will continue to advance education in the city towards new peaks and allow our dear students to bring out the best version of themselves."
