They attack the prime minister sharply - there is an incendiary letter.

Munich – The CSU recently met in the Banz monastery for a conference.

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) presented his teacher campaign.

With it, the Free State wants to counteract the shortage of teachers in the schools.

Söder's plan also includes poaching staff from other federal states.

An approach that met with sharp criticism from parents in Bavaria.

Söder's teacher campaign sharply criticized: Bavaria's parents are "ashamed".

Söder's poaching campaign met with massive criticism from parents in Bavaria.

The parents' association BEV published an open letter to the Prime Minister on Wednesday, February 1st.

“Up to now, you have had little more than contempt for the education of other federal states.

In view of this, you should be ashamed of fishing for teachers in the once frowned upon Bavarian 'abroad' if you have to," it says.

Hard words that are publicly addressed directly to the CSU boss.

"But you believe that you have a certain right to do so, with reference to Bavaria's high contributions to the financial equalization of the federal states.

We Bavarian parents are ashamed of that in your place," the letter said.

At the CSU conference, Söder announced that he wanted to show teachers in other federal states the advantages of Bavaria.

Criticism also from the federal states: demands of the Bavarian parents

For decades, Bavaria has benefited from the financial equalization of the federal states, it has helped to turn the Free State from an agricultural state into a rich industrial location, the letter says.

Unsurprisingly, Söder was also criticized from other federal states.

“Children’s educational success depends on their parents’ wallets.

Should it now also depend on that of the federal state?” writes BEV state boss Martin Löwe in the fire letter.

In addition, Söder would “cheat” on the facts about the better salary – there is no improvement in sight there.

Finally, the fire letter calls for the money to be put into the Bavarian education system immediately.

Instead of poaching teachers from other countries, the state government should better use its “cleverly devised lures” such as relocation aids to persuade teachers within the Free State to move to the “expensive part of Bavaria”.
