A contained cry broke out on the face of Christian Dupuy, Lucio's father, when he heard that Abigail Páez (28), girlfriend of the baby's mother, Magdalena Espósito Valenti (25), was convicted of the crime and of
seriously outrageous
sexual abuse.
50 seconds before the president of the court, Alejandra Ongaro, announced Páez's guilt, she had confirmed that Esposito Valenti was also guilty, but only for aggravated homicide, not for rape.
Although the judge, together with her colleagues - magistrates Daniel Saez Zamora and Andrés Olié - has not yet said so due to a formality, the two women must serve life imprisonment.
Just on February 13, at 8 o'clock, she will tell
Ella.
Christian was not the only one moved, who covered his face with his hands as tears fell, the Dupuy family lawyer, José Mario Aguerrido, did the same almost at the same moment.
A few steps away from them were the baby's grandparents, Ramón Dupuy and Silvia Gómez, his uncle Maximiliano (who had possession of Lucio) and his aunt.
When the judge finished reading the verdict, a few applause was heard in the room, which remained calm.
Lucio
's relatives stayed in their seats for
five seconds , processing what they had been waiting for so long, until Ramón stood up to hug Christián.

Father and son, dressed alike, with white T-shirts, jeans and sneakers, with the only difference: the grandfather was wearing a print with the logo of the "Lucio Abel Dupuy Civil Association" on his sweater.
The father's family, his lawyer and prosecutors Verónica Ferrero, Walter Martos and Marcos Saccopidio took a few minutes to hug each other.
After 18 hearings and more than a year of the crime, the tranquility of having achieved what they were looking for had arrived for everyone.
Finally,
justice was done for Lucio
.
However, the hearing was imperfect for the Dupuy family because the convicted women decided not to attend and preferred to stay in San Luis Penitentiary Unit No. 1, where they are serving pretrial detention.
And the inevitable doubt is to wonder what it would have been like if Esposito and Páez had been there.
Little by little, the judges, prosecutors, the Mothers of Pain and the Dupuy family, who numbered around 20 people, withdrew.
The first to leave was Christián who, paradoxically, was the last to enter the room (just before he entered the court).
A strange sign with a swastika on the door of the court that tried the accused.

But Ramón stayed in the room to speak to the press.
That was the Dupuy rule that was fulfilled once again.
Thus, the words of Lucio's father could not be, as soon as the verdict was announced.
When leaving the Judicial Center of La Pampa, Lucio's grandfather was followed by a sea of people -with white balloons and posters- shouting
"separate them"
.
Alluding to the request of the baby's family that he does not want the convicts to continue together in the same prison.
The dozens of people who accompanied the Dupuys also charged the judges.
First against judge Ana Clara Pérez Ballester because she
gave possession of Lucio to Esposito
, and she was already denounced for "failure to comply with the duties of a public official."
Second, those present targeted the three magistrates of the court because
they did not find Esposito guilty of the crime of
seriously outrageous sexual abuse.
"Removing the abuse for me is a mistake," Ramón said after the verdict.

Meanwhile, the crowd followed the baby's grandfather and chanted: "Dismissal of all judges who believe that biting Lucio's genitals is not abuse. Sons of bitches, sons of bitches."
The atmosphere of tranquility that existed in the courtroom had already been left behind.
"We have achieved a very important step, that both are guilty, that both are going to receive life sentences. Because that is what we came to seek, justice. That they be separated," said Ramón after leaving the court building, under a tree that for a few seconds covered it from the full sun.
At his side were people who brought him a bottle of water due to the heat, which at that time -12:27- was already unbearable.
The man was surrounded by dozens of people.
Every once in a while they asked them to run so they could breathe.
Four people away from Ramón there was a sign that said "Lucio always in my heart", inside a heart and with four orange butterflies.
Grandfather's exit was the same as when he entered the room, people followed him, hugged him and gave him words of encouragement.
The man was the first in the family to arrive at court and the last to leave.
When Ramón arrived at the Judicial Center at 11, he told
Clarín
that he was confident that Espósito and Páez would be found guilty.
"They have to give him a life sentence today. It has to be like that. That's what we expect and what they deserve," he said as he went down the stairs that are on Uruguay Street at 1000. An hour later, his wish came true.
