10 soldiers were evacuated last night during tunnel training of the soldiers of the Engineering Corps' Yalam unit after a commander threw a smoke grenade without permission and for an unknown reason. This was learned today (Thursday) by Walla!.
The soldiers of the unit, which specializes in underground warfare, trained in the shaft.
At one point, one of the commanders threw a smoke grenade into the shaft.
The soldiers suffocated and shouted for help - so the commanders stopped the training.
10 of the soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment as a result of smoke inhalation.
Following the report of the case, it was decided to impose a training curfew in the entire Yalam unit and to open an in-depth investigation to clarify the circumstances of the case.
