Gafni was appointed head of the Finance Committee: "We will not run away from the matter of the cost of living" (Knesset Channel)
The Chairman of the Finance Committee, MK Moshe Gafni, one of the leaders of Torah Judaism, announced that he will oppose the promotion of the bill initiated by the Chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Simcha Rothman, which is intended to limit the right to strike.
In Gafni's environment today (Thursday) Walla was told that "the bill is not part of the coalition agreements, it is not compatible with us and if it comes to a vote in the Knesset - we will oppose it."
The bill that MK Rothman put on the Knesset table this week is intended to change labor relations in Israel, according to which the authority to limit strikes should be transferred from the Labor Court to the Knesset, significantly limit the grounds for labor disputes, and prohibit workers' organizations from collecting membership fees from those who are not interested in it.

The bill could dramatically reduce the right to strike.
The proposal states that "the state does not function as an employer and the duties of an employer should not be imposed on it, unless it is defined as the direct employer of the workers".
It is also written that "the proposed amendment reduces the ability of small pressure groups to stop policies that seek to benefit the general public".
Gafni is the head of the Torah Flag faction, which includes four members of the Knesset, and his opposition actually denies the coalition majority to the bill, if it is decided to advance.
