Damascus-SANA
The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection denied what was reported by some pages and social media about allowing a company to import cars and spare parts, noting that this issue is completely untrue.
The ministry stated in a statement, a copy of which SANA received today, that all that happened was that a person established a company and it was registered in the ministry with the Companies Directorate, like hundreds of companies, and on the basis of it he obtained a commercial record of the degree that allows him to import cars and parts.
The ministry added: “This register is available with many duly licensed companies that operate in the scope of importing cars and their parts or even other materials, but this company that obtained the commercial registration did not obtain the import license that allows it to import cars, and also one of the conditions for its submission.” To obtain an import license for any material, he must have a commercial registry according to the regulations and laws, and that is all there is to it.
And the ministry continued: “The import of car parts has not stopped in the first place, but the import of cars is the one that has stopped, and when this is allowed, everyone will know through official channels and the authorities authorized to do so in the country and through the official media.”
