He only has one eye left and many years of bad individual husbandry behind him: Amazon cock Jakob.
The bird from the Munich animal shelter is now looking for a new home.
Munich – After many years in bad retail, he finally ended up in the Munich animal shelter: blue-fronted Amazon cock Jakob.
The bird is 21 years old, which is not very old for this species as they can live up to 80 years if kept well.
The "poor guy", as the shelter itself describes him, is now ready to go to a new home.
However, the new owners should take a few things into account.
"Poor guy": exotic from the Munich animal shelter is looking for a new home - after years of bad attitude
Jacob only has one eye, which does not restrict the bird in any way, neither in its behavior nor in its "beauty".
The friendly, but still somewhat reserved rooster now wants nothing more than a conspecific of about the same age, preferably an Amazon hen.
A parrot room would be ideal for accommodation with additional free flight options or an aviary of minimum dimensions 2x2x1m just for sleeping with all-day free flight in the rest of the apartment.
Jakob tested negative four times for common bird diseases, so he is healthy.
