A Pakistani man stole two cans of beer from a convenience store in Yuen Long four years ago and was chased by a 60-year-old clerk when he fled.
The clerk fell in the confusion. Bahan allegedly kicked the clerk who had fallen to the ground and said, "X your mother." Then he left.
The clerk was taken to hospital and died two days later from trauma to the head.
After Bahan was arrested, he initially denied being involved in the incident, and later believed that he had stolen beer, but said that the clerk said foul language to him and scolded him with racially discriminatory words, so he pushed the clerk down and kicked him forehead.
Bahan denied the murder trial. The jury retreated for 3 hours in the High Court today (2nd) and unanimously ruled that the defendant was guilty of murder. ) and stated that murder was punishable by life imprisonment.
The defendant ISLAM Javed Iqbal, 30 years old, holds a Hong Kong identity card and was unemployed at the time of the case.
He is accused of murdering Deng Zhongqiang (61 years old) on December 30, 2019.
The prosecution revealed that the defendant had one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Furthermore, the accused was married and his wife resided in Pakistan.
Regarding the theft of two cans of beer at the convenience store, the defendant had earlier pleaded guilty to theft.

According to the prosecution plan, the defendant went to a convenience store on Chik Rang Road, Yuen Long, to steal two cans of beer at around 9:00 pm on December 28, 2019, and then fled. Deng, a part-time store assistant, chased the defendant.
Deng was then chased by the defendant, fell down on Anning Road, and was kicked by the defendant.
The victim died two days later after losing consciousness and bleeding from his mouth and nose
Suliza, an Indonesian woman, testified earlier that after eating at an Indonesian restaurant late in the incident, she heard the defendant outside the restaurant shouting: "X your mother." and kicked a man lying on the ground.
After the defendant kicked about 5 times, he left the scene, and the man fell to the ground bleeding from his head.
When the ambulance arrived at the scene, they found Deng unconscious, bleeding from his mouth and nose.
Deng was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for emergency treatment and died two days later.
According to the forensic doctor, Deng's death was caused by head trauma.
Defendant admitted to hitting Deng on the forehead
The defendant was arrested on the 29th of the same month and initially claimed that he had nothing to do with the incident.
In his first two videotaped interviews with police, he denied going to the convenience store involved or stealing beer.
In the third video meeting, he changed his claim to being chased by Deng after stealing beer in a convenience store. Deng swears at him, accuses Deng and scolded him with racially discriminatory words, and accuses Deng of threatening to beat him to death.
After being attacked by Deng, the defendant pushed Deng to the ground, but Deng who fell to the ground continued to swear at the defendant. The defendant claimed that he was provoked and kicked Deng twice and hit Deng on the forehead.
