Rodeos: he hits a policeman with his motocross during a rap clip in Trappes... and surrenders 3 years later

He had been giving investigators a hard time for more than three years, after a motorcycle rodeo.

It was finally he who pushed the door of the Élancourt police station (Yvelines) at the start of the week accompanied by his lawyer, we learned this Thursday.

This 23-year-old resident of Trappes had been the subject of a search warrant since October 2, 2019.

That day, while he was taking part in the filming of a rap clip in the district of Les Merisiers, a video for which he was riding on the handlebars of his motocross.

The police officers of the specialized Trappes field brigade who were passing by had tried to carry out a check.

But he refused to stop and accidentally hit an agent, who was given 31 days of total incapacity for work (ITT).

On the point of being arrested, the young Trappist also struck a second police officer in the nose, earning him 5 days of ITT.

He then managed to escape, taking advantage of the crowd hostile to the police that had formed around them.

New refusal to comply in 2020

The next day, an operation was carried out at his home to arrest him, but the suspect was already on the run.

The latter was also well known to the local police for other facts.

The investigations carried out on the district of Élancourt had remained vain to find it.

About a year later, on September 7, 2020, he was however spotted driving a vehicle in the town of Trappes by police officers on patrol.

Once again, he had refused to comply and had managed to shake off the police by taking all the risks in the car, then on foot.

6,000 euros in arrears with the Public Treasury

Since then, he had not been seen in the neighborhood… Until Tuesday, January 31, 2023, by constituting himself a prisoner, with the support of his lawyer.

He also brought the sum of 500 euros in cash, to “canteen”, that is to say to buy property in detention, being convinced of being imprisoned on the spot.

This was without counting on the collaboration between the Élancourt investigators and the Direction générale des finances publiques.

Indeed, the investigations have shown that the respondent accumulates a debt of 6,000 euros in unpaid fines with the Public Treasury.

The Versailles prosecutor's office therefore decided to seize the 500 euros in cash, in order to repay part of this debt.

Brought before the Versailles court, the individual was placed under judicial supervision and left free while waiting to be notified of his hearing date.
