They stole apartments and used part of the loot to go to the World Cup: they ask for international capture

2023-02-02T18:48:25.477Z

The gang operated in Mar del Plata and, according to investigators, they also bought vehicles. There are at least 4 and they are fugitives.

The same ability that they showed in the robberies they are accused of, of which they took

a million dollars

, more than 40 million pesos, jewelry and other valuables, now they used to

escape:

they are four members of a gang who are

intensely wanted

by investigators;

They called for his international capture.

The gang has committed a series of robberies in apartments in Mar del Plata in the last seven months.

There are images of the criminals taken by the security cameras of the buildings and the commune, as well as wiretaps that reveal what role each of the gang members played.

Messages between those telephone lines allowed the investigating prosecutor Fernando Berlingeri and personnel from the city's Departmental Investigations Directorate (DDI) to

identify the suspects.

Investigators maintain that the gang committed at least four robberies in the last seven months, three in downtown apartments and another

in the Playa Grande area.

With the endorsement of the Justice of Guarantees, members of the DDI and the UTOI group simultaneously raided five homes, including a financial cave located in the macrocentre, but the result was

negative.

Immediately, Berlingeri requested that an

international arrest warrant be issued to the suspects.

Some of the robberies occurred in buildings on Playa Grande, in Mar del Plata.

The procedures were carried out in a house in the "Rumencó Joven" private neighborhood, located on Jorge Newbery Avenue, in the south of the city;

in a house in French at 5300;

a property in San Juan at 4100;

in a house on 5000 Laprida street and in a place that operated as a "cave" in Catamarca at 2200, dedicated

to the sale of foreign currency.

None of the suspects were there when officers arrived.

The attitude of the occupants of these properties caught the attention of the investigators, because

"no one was surprised by the raids

. "

They were waiting for them, sources in the case said.

The same sources reported that after the raids a lawyer appeared on behalf of the four defendants, so it is expected that in the next few hours some of them

may appear before Justice

.

For now, it did not happen.

Among the suspects there is a merchant, the owner of a concessionaire and also owner of a "cave", located in the macrocenter of this city.

A racing driver from a zonal category

would also be involved .

According to the investigators, the gang studied the victims based on sensitive information they obtained, such as the basis of their savings or

recent real estate transactions.

They duplicated access keys to the buildings, for which they made some visits.

When the keys had a chip, criminals followed vehicles, used inhibitors and stole them.

Then, they committed the robberies as an

"escruche",

that is, when the owners of the house were not there, or were traveling or, as in the last case,

when they had gone out to dinner.

"There are films, product of the security cameras of the buildings where the victims lived and nearby, which show different members of the gang while they

prowled the area the days before committing the crimes

," said the prosecutor.

Berlingeri said that "

there is no relationship between the victims, they did not know each other"

, and explained that there are wiretaps that are incorporated into the case, where they talk to each other about the acts committed.

The first of the events attributed to the gang occurred on July 28 of last year in a building in Moreno at 3000 and, a few days later, the same gang committed another robbery in another apartment in the same building, taking advantage of the fact that their residents were away.

The victims were two people aged 85 and 87.

From only one of those apartments

, they took $150,000 and two firearms.

The band had already begun to spend part of the loot, when it returned to acting.

It was last November 13 in a building located six blocks from the previous one, in Bolívar at 3500. From there they left with more than

a quarter of a million dollars and about 150 thousand pesos.

The last one occurred on January 20 in an apartment on Calle Rodríguez Peña at 100, in the heart of the Playa Grande area, from where

they took a safe

, as well as two suitcases loaded with other valuables.

The investigation determined that, shortly after committing the robberies, the suspects

bought cars and trucks.

One bought a Fiat 500 and a VW Amarok V6 Extreme, another invested in jewelry and reserved a Peugeot 308 and a Ford Fiesta.

A third bought a Ford Raptor 0 km.

And they traveled: in December two of them

were in Qatar watching the National Team.
