Eating ultra-processed foods increases the risk of developing and dying from cancer, especially ovarian cancer, according to a new UK study of more than 197,000 people, more than half of whom were women.
Overly processed foods include soups, sauces, frozen pizzas, prepackaged meals, as well as hot dogs, sausages, chips, soda, cookies, cakes, candy, donuts, ice cream, and many more.
Dr. Elmer Huerta, public health expert, explains why these foods can lead to cancer.
