Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin warned that the Leopard tanks that Germany sent to Ukraine to fight Russia will face the same fate as the Tiger tanks 80 years ago.
“As history has shown, not everyone learned the lessons of Nazi Germany’s defeat in Stalingrad,” Volodin said on his Telegram channel today, according to Novosti Agency. “Angela Merkel, who held the position of chancellor, deceived the international community and her people and helped the Nazi Kyiv regime prepare for war.”
Volodin added, "The current chancellor, Olaf Scholz, went further by issuing a decision to send German Leopard tanks to fight against Russia, where they will meet the same fate as the German Tiger tanks 80 years ago and will be burned."
Volodin stressed the need for the German leadership to remember what happened in 1943, and to explain to its citizens why it once again involved the German people in the war.
The Russian leadership has constantly warned the Western countries that supply Kyiv with weapons and military equipment that these steps will only lead to further destruction of Ukraine and prolong the conflict, nor will they contribute to launching negotiations that would end hostilities.
