No viewer should probably see these scenes: ARD subsequently cut out a live glitch on the Tagesschau with spokeswoman Judith Rakers and recorded the 8 p.m. news again.

Hamburg – On Wednesday evening Judith Rakers (47) presented the Tagesschau on ARD.

At 8 p.m. sharp, the camera panned to the news anchor in the production studio in Hamburg.

Responding confidently: Judith Rakers has been with the ARD Tagesschau since 2005

Born in Paderborn, she has been spokeswoman for the Tagesschau since 2005.

Her experience should benefit her on Wednesday evening, because: Right at the beginning of the 15-minute news broadcast, there was a live glitch on ARD.

"Good evening my women and men.

I welcome you to the news," the 1.73 meter tall journalist began the program.

While the ARD viewers behind Judith Rakers saw a picture of EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen (64), Rakers read a completely different text from the teleprompter in the ARD studio of the Tagesschau.

ARD loads another version of the 8 p.m. Tagesschau in the media library: without a live breakdown

"The US group Wolfspeed is also relying on such subsidies for a new chip factory that is to be built in Ensdorf in Saarland," says Judith Rakers.

After about 20 seconds, ARD faded von der Leyen out in the background and radioed Rakers about the live breakdown.

"I just heard that's the wrong report.

We didn't want to start the show with that," Rakers reacted confidently.

After looking at their moderation cards, Rakers then read the actual report about von der Leyen and the Tagesschau was able to continue without errors.

But a little later another version of the 8 p.m. daily news appears in the ARD media library.

Live glitch in the Tagesschau in November when the lottery numbers were drawn

In the apparently re-recorded version, the Tagesschau begins without a live glitch and Judith Rakers moderates the correct report about Ursula von der Leyen.

Apparently, ARD did not want viewers to be able to see the live breakdown in the media library.

The 8 p.m. Tagesschau on Saturday evening also includes the freshly drawn lottery numbers.

However, in an edition of the news in November 2022, the editors made a mistake that was cleared up during the broadcast.
