Military vehicles en route to Ukraine: Trucks carrying 20 Spanish armored personnel carriers arrive at the port of Bilbao in northern Spain on Thursday evening.
They are first to be taken to a NATO base in Latvia and then transported to Ukraine.
Like other allies, Spain has announced that it will supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 main battle tanks.
Russia openly threatens retaliation.
At the pompous celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Stalingrad's victory over Nazi Germany, Russian President Vladimir Putin continued to pursue his fear-mongering strategy.

So far, the West has not been impressed.
In Kyiv, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and EU Council President Charles Michel is also expected on Friday.
He again emphasized the urgency of international aid.

Meanwhile, fighting on the front in eastern Ukraine continues.
At least three people died in Russian rocket attacks in Kramatorsk on Thursday, while the Ukrainian military treated wounded civilians.
Ukraine will soon receive further aid for the fight against Putin's army from Germany: On Friday, the federal government issued an export license for Leopard-1 main battle tanks to the country.
